Halloween falls on a Saturday this year, so the Seoul subway runs its weekend timetable and the last trains leave before midnight. Here are the last trains from Itaewon, Hongik Univ. (Hongdae) and Seongsu, the night buses that run after, what a taxi costs late at night, and what changes on Friday, Oct 30.

Last trains on Saturday, Oct 31
- ITAEWONLine 6: 11:17 pm to Sinnae · 11:37 pm to Eungam
Those are the last trains that run the whole line. After that, short trains go to Anam and Daeheung at 11:48 pm, and one goes to Gongdeok at 11:59 pm. Times are departures from Itaewon on the Seoul Metro weekend timetable.

From Hongik Univ. Station, the last inner-loop train goes as far as Euljiro 1-ga (11:49 pm) and the last outer-loop train as far as Sindorim (11:51 pm). Earlier ones go further: 11:33 pm inner to Seongsu, 11:37 pm outer to Seoul Nat'l Univ. Line 2 is a loop, so check that your stop comes before the train's last stop.

From Seongsu, the last inner-loop train goes to Samseong and the last outer-loop train to Euljiro 1-ga, both at 11:42 pm. The short branch train to Sinseol-dong leaves at 11:51 pm.

Seoul said on Oct 22 that it is considering running trains later for people heading home. As of Oct 28 nothing has been announced, so plan on the normal times and check the station announcements on the night.

Friday runs the weekday timetable. Itaewon: 12:10 am to Sinnae, 12:13 am to Eungam, 12:48 am to Gongdeok. Hongik Univ.: 12:49 am to Euljiro 1-ga, 12:50 am to Sindorim. Seongsu: 12:44 am to Samseong, 12:45 am to Euljiro 1-ga, 12:51 am to Sinseol-dong.
After the last train: night buses
- N72Itaewon · Samgakji · Gongdeok · Sinchon · Hongdae
The one night bus that links Itaewon and Hongdae. Seoul lists it at about 11:30 pm – 3:45 am, every 30–40 minutes. On Oct 31 Itaewon-ro is closed to cars from about 8 pm to 3 am, so walk out of the closed street before you look for a stop (our tip).
N72 심야버스Google Maps - HONGDAEN51, N26, N62 also stop near Hongik Univ. Station
N51 runs toward Gwanghwamun and Dongdaemun, N62 toward Sinchon, Dongdaemun and Konkuk Univ. Check the route on the stop sign or in Naver Map before you board.

Tap your T-money or Climate Card when you get on and when you get off. Seoul's Climate Card FAQ lists Seoul night buses as covered, and the short-term tourist passes still work after the 30-day pass ended in September.
Taxi late at night

Taxis can't get into closed or packed streets. In Itaewon, walk toward Noksapyeong or Hangangjin Station; in Hongdae, toward Hapjeong or Sinchon. Then book with Kakao T or Uber, or wave one down.

If it gets crowded, trains may pass Itaewon without stopping. Noksapyeong's last train to Gongdeok leaves at 12:00 am on Saturday; Hangangjin's last train to Eungam at 11:35 pm.

- Our tip: set a phone alarm for 11 pm on Saturday. That's your cue to start walking to the station.
- Line 2 is a loop. A late train may end before your stop, so read the destination on the train.
